The Mu Kappa Omega “Pink and Green Christmas” Outreach activity was held on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
Sixty residents, thirty Mu Kappa Omega members, and four volunteers attended the Christmas activity. Mitzi Patterson provided the opening meditation and blessed the food. Melba Parker gave the history on how and when this site was chosen as one of our service projects. The residents enjoyed a hot breakfast and games, and various residents won $20 Walmart gift cards playing BINGO.
The Quail Valley Pharmacy donated four $25 Kroger Gift Cards. They were given to the resident with the most unique Christmas attire and two residents who lived in the facility the longest (25 years). One has been attending our activities for 21 years. All residents attending the activity received a calendar and a bag filled with snacks. Ivory Harrison provided the closing remarks and thanked the residents for allowing us to serve them.
Special thanks to all the Mu Kappa Omega members who prepared the food and worked as servers and greeters.
